Alternator not charging

Postby WarZ0ne97 » Sat Aug 07, 2021 11:56 am

I bought some cheap $50 alternator off ebay and it's not charging with only one wire. I was going to put another wire to the ignition and jump the other to the battery post but I'm unsure which of the two blade terminals goes to each the ignition switch and battery terminal on alternator. The blades aren't labeld either Which is difficult

We need to know more about which alternator you have. There is the old standard Delco 10 si and or clones, there is also the mini Denso. Either will work well but we can’t advise until we know what we’re working with. The 10 si has 2 blade terminal that set parallel to each other, the mini Denso has 2 blade terminals, one horizontal, the other vertical. We can help you connect it, once we know which.

This is for the Denso version. I use a 50V 6A Current Blocking Rectifier Diode.
