old looking decals

Postby Pap » Thu Jul 08, 2021 9:50 am

Does anybody know how to make new decals look old. Or can I buy them that looks old. I don't have any on my tractor now and I want it to look old. I am going to try to go with the old original old tractor look.

you can "beat them up" if you have a good quality vinyl decal, scuff them with a 3m pad or the likes, careful using a paint thinner and you can fade them etc

Maybe a coat of a matte finish varnish -- dull with a little yellow.

Leave them out in the sun for a while!

Maybe a year or two!

My plan is to clear coat the hole thing with a matte or flat finish when I get it the look that I want.

Haha, yea, sun and rain. It will make anything look old in no time it seems like.
