47 Cub Hy-trans fluid
Hy-trans fluid- is that just hydraulic fluid? I have some hydraulic fluid. Or just visit the IH dealer and buy some?

Any hydraulic/transmission fluid that meets International Harvester B-6 specifications is fine.
Napa carries it.

Re: 47 Cub Hy-trans fluid
Hi,
Case IH Hy-Tran fluid is thin hydraulic type fluid. It is used for the Touch Control, and in the late 1950's IH started recommending in the Cub operator's manuals that it be used in the Cub transmission, and final drives.
Before that IH recommended gear oil in the trans and final drives.
If you would rather use gear oil, nowadays they make 80W-90 gear oil, it can be used in the trans and final drives.
The newer operator's manuals say gear oil can be used instead of Hy-Tran fluid in the trans and final drives.
If you use a different brand of hydraulic fluid in the Touch Control, it should be one that says on the package that it is for use in IH hydraulic systems.

HyTran is basically 10w oil which is very thin. As state before you can get it at any NAPA stores.
