Cub Dash Question

Postby yellercub » Mon May 10, 2021 4:48 pm

Anyone have an easy way to remove or get behind the dash? I need to replace the ignition switch, and while I am at it, I am going to replace the fuse holder.

With the hood off and the battery disconnected, a long socket extension can reach the bolts.

put a small piece of paper towel in the socket so you can "grab" the bolts. It works great putting them back in again too.

you can remove the rear bolts and pick up on the back of the hood just to block it enough to clear the dash

I was thinking of trying that. I think I did that once, but if I recall it was kinda a pain.

I found small button magnets at home depot that I put inside the socket to hold on to the bolt.

With the hood off make sure you do not start project creep. "Wheel, while the hood is off I should....." Stay focused on the dash or the cub could be out of commission all summer.
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!
