New choke rod and starter rod
So my cub came without a choke rod or a starting rod. I ordered and received them today. the starter rod is pretty self explanatory but the choke not so much. so some questions... Does the starter rod insert into the starter switch pointing to the tractor or away from the tractor? Does anybody have a photo of the choke rod install at the top of the tractor and the carb? It would sure be helpful to get it right the first time. Thanks all for your help.

Arrange each rod so that the cotter keys (or hairpin clips)at ends of bends holes are facing AWAY from engine.
Installed , fasteners (cotter pins or clips) are visible on the outside/away from engine.
If reversed , you would have difficulty doing a quick visual check of fasteners.

I always install them so the offset pull loops are toward the center of the tractor.

Re: New choke rod and starter rod
Hi,
The choke rod goes on with the bend in it facing up.
Below is a pic showing the choke rod, it should go slightly above the Touch Control tubes.
If it rubs on the tubes, the engine vibration can wear it into the tubes.
If the rod is too low, increasing the bend of the bend in the pic probably will raise it up.
You probably need to remove the rod to bend it.
