That seems way too long. Check for blockage in tank where the sediment bowl screws in.

But he said that with another carb it runs perfect so that tells us the problem is in the troublesome carb and not upstream.

I swear the IH carbs have a screen in the fuel inlet, but it has been a while since I played with one.

I would take the needle and seat out and stick my rubber tipped blow gun in the hole where the seat goes and blow it out. Maybe squirt a little carb cleaner in that hole too.

Blow from both sides!

Is the hole in seat plugged any? Look up the hole size specification in the seat and take that size drill bit and run it through, turning it with your finger tips gently!

I did that once... I still haven't found the little screen that was inside the inlet. It went flying across the driveway and into oblivion. :?

The trick is to hold a rag over the inlet side to catch the screen!

I now have one good running carb/cub. I took Bob McCarty's suggestion on using JB weld for putting a new brass fitting in inlet so I could try the top half of the spare carb. Still not sure why the original top half is no good. Thanks for all your replies and help on this issue.
1948 Cub, 1952 Cub and several Deere hang out with me.
