arps half track manual for cub

Postby inairam » Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:21 am

I know this is dreaming but does anyone have the installation/ parts manual for the arps half track manual for cub

Searching I could only found the manual for Ford tractors.

I did find this, th FCA-13 was $234.25 in 1955 ($2262.18 today's $) and it could fit the cub/ A/ 130 up to 9 x 24 tires.

I have always been curious how they mounted it. There are a lot of pic on this site but none are really detailed showing under the tractor.

I have a working arps setup on a cub, can take pics when the snow goes away, over 2 feet and still snowing, it was not complicated, it has a bracket in the middle that uses the two rear mounting pads on the torque tube and two support rods that go into the steering box square hole back to the idler wheels

Thanks Tim.

I do not understand our this would fit both the cub and the A-140. The axel does not appear to have a height adjustment other than the nuts holding the springs.

the holes in the mounting pads have a couple sets of holes in them, I would assume that makes the m fit the a-140

Those might be nice when it snows a lot!

But I bet a set like that is scarce!!!

I guess if one could find the tracks the rest could be built!

If they worked well than I would think more would have been made.

Snow or mud? I would think down here on the coast those would float the tractor. Only thing I could think of would be a forestry application. Since your not farming in mud...unless it's rice. But in forestry unless it was pulling a wagon to fill with resin for the naval stores industry a Cub wouldn't have enough guys or weight to pull logs of any size. Unless they used it to skid pulpwood up to a loading area...but still maximizing volume per pull I would think would take priority.

Dave hasn't been active on the forum since June 2019, so he may not see this post. A PM may go through as Don suggested. dirt devil
I know Dave has, or had, two complete sets for his Cub.
At Cecil's CubFest 2008, he tried plowing with them on and it wasn't very effective. Tracks are wider than the furrow!

The one I have an old guy had it and put the big tires on the front, he use to harvest cedar trees in a swap so he thought the front end would "float"

1st a few pics showing the mounting on a cub, I am sure the threaded rod was not original to this, has a clamp on the front axle for the rods to take up the adjustment, then the torque tube mounts on plates, that is all there is to it
