Re: Mott belly mower drive
You probably wouldn't use it, ours has not seen the light of day since we bought the woods. If I decide to rebuild the LoBoy's engine then yes I'd put it back on so that I'd have something. If I have heavy duty mowing I get the Ford and it's Mott out- easier to hook up and has more power.

Ditto, same situation, bigger tractors for heavy duty mowing. My Mott has been in storage since I purchased a Woods 42.Gary S. wrote:You probably wouldn't use it, ours has not seen the light of day since we bought the woods. Re: Mott belly mower drive
to use a Mott in the tall stuff you need to raise it up a few inches and go over it the let it down and do it the second time.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Re: Mott belly mower drive
I hear ya...I will pass on it although $200 is a good deal with a good set of knives. I wouldn't even consider it except for that darn winding, rocky bike trail for that one property. For the other properties I use the JD 3020 or the IH 504 with either the 7ft 907 flail or a Woods 72 brush hog. Those are monsters and will cut anythng

Re: Mott belly mower drive
The only thing I'd add is the Mott mower is offset by maybe 8" to the right and depending on type of grass/weeds and how tall it is, the stuff tends to wrap around the flail shaft.

I would imagine...I have that with the Ford 907 offset...gotta watch your speed and slow down in the tall stuff.
