Looks like we got about a foot. Still snowing at 8:45am but don't expect much more. Sun comes out around 2:30pm this afternoon according to the weather forecasts.
I'll enlist one of the girls to take some action shots this afternoon.

Re: Ready for SNOW!!!!!
Doomsday forecast - 9 to 17 inches. Actual storm total - 8 inches. Another "Storm of the Century" fizzles into the record books. 9 to 17 is a pretty big range. I'll bet I could claim 100% accuracy if I predicted 0 to 24 inches for every storm.

Re: Ready for SNOW!!!!!
About 6 to 8 inches of heavy, wet snow here. Luckily, a neighbor with a green tractor plowed my driveway. "Warmer, sitting in the house, than getting seat time!)

Re: Ready for SNOW!!!!!
I was out 3 hours in the 4Runner. Did our driveway, the street (block and a half), the hill (2 blocks), the lower street for a hundred yards, the neighbor's 40 deg driveway, 3 mailboxes, and 3 intersections, everything at full width. Toasty warm listening to classical music. The only downside is having to get out and angle the plow blade manually 8 or 9 times. It was also an opportunity to break in the new tires. These babies (Sumitomo Ice Edge) lived up to the hype as the best snows out there. I've never had traction this good in the snow before.

Re: Ready for SNOW!!!!!
I had no takers to come out and photo the plowing, so here's a screenshot from a 40 second video making the 3rd pass on the 320' driveway.
First two runs in 3rd gear tossed the snow real nice.

I can hardly see any of the lawn peeking through, this morning, must be a couple inches! I certainly don't want to think about 44".

Re: Ready for SNOW!!!!!
A second on those Sumitomo Ice Edge tires. Put them on my AWD van. Amazing, the only problem now is I am not getting any seat time on the Cub. No need to plow with these tires.

Re: Ready for SNOW!!!!!
I’d be interested to hear how their long term wear characteristics are. Back in the early 80’s, I had a set of Continental Contacts on a Toyota Corona wagon. Did great on snow and ice, but didn’t wear well. The rubber compound was softer than normal.
