Oil pressure gauge?
My 1979 Ih cub doesn’t have one. What gauge do I need to buy and where does it go? I have a screw in plug on the side of the oil filter housing. Does it screw into that? Thanks

Yep that's where the gauge screws into.

Re: Oil pressure gauge?
Hi,
Below is a page from the 1975 and newer Cub operator's manual showing the oil gauge, at the lower right of the page.

Below is a listing for a new oil pressure gauge at TM Tractor. It says they had them made to look like the originals. You can look at the pics.
A Cub engine has 35 lbs of oil pressure, the Cub service manual says. That is probably for a new engine.
Using a high pressure gauge doesn't work too well, the pointer only uses the lower part of the gauge.

This is what the original gauge on my 77 looks like. The part number is 536966R1.

That should do. Remember a healthy engine will have 35. If you have over 40 it will just peg the gauge. Your really concerned if it's too low. I'm guessing you will be running 20 to 35psi so you will be fine.

Re: Oil pressure gauge?
Ok. Yeah ordered off eBay should be in Saturday or Monday. I’ll screw it in start engine and see what I got for oil pressure. Just bought the tractor couple weeks ago and didn’t have a gauge on it figured I’d better install one so I can keep an eye on it make sure don’t lock up the engine. Thanks for the reply
