Wiring harness
Does anybody make a close to factory wiring harness for a 1962 Loboy. It would be nice to have the lights and everything working good. I see several listed on line but am curious as to which ones members like the best.

Re: Wiring harness
I have purchased severs harnessed form Brillman and have been very happy. A lot of tech support if you have a question about the instructions.
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

Re: Wiring harness
Maybe you are a wiz at electrical, but one of the best things I did was rewire the 2 cubs when I first got them. Now mind you I knew nothing of electrical, grounding, lights, grounding again, coils, VR's, generators, etc. I became familiar with all parts of the ignition system for the price of a lot of patience, researching and a spool of #10 wire and terminal clips. I applied it to every tractor since

Re: Wiring harness
Brillman looks too quality. I ha e not bought one but everything is original quality down to cloth jackets. The fee wires I have replaced for generator and VR I just made up. I will rewire my lights one day but it's not high on my list as I don't really plan on working at night.

Re: Wiring harness
I am extremely electrically challenged. At best I am more of a parts changer than solving the cause of the issue. That is why I am thinking of a complete wiring harness. I can follow the directions of what to hook up easier than trying to figure out the wiring diagram

Re: Wiring harness
Brillman has good products, , just found Porch uses the correct period materials so they are accurate for restoration for the year of the tractor if that is important to you

Re: Wiring harness
We make wire harness at work but I still buy them for the cub. We do not use the same connectors or wire sizes at work so it is buying different inventory and in some cases different crimper tools.
It is a make buy decision for the owner. I came out that when it is all said and done with materials and time I would not be saving much.

Re: Wiring harness
Other options would include replacing one wire at a time. Disconnect both ends, electrical tape the new wire to old wire and pull new wire to its destination. Crimp connectors on ends (making certain no extra bare copper is visible) and reconnect to the terminals. Good crimps are essential and it is helpful to use a dab of di-electric grease on the copper before it is crimped.
Go on to next wire.
