Tach drive?

What drives the tach on a fcub?
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

A distributor with the tach drive attached.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

The distributor housing on the earlier Cubs was different than the later ones. If you are trying to put a tach on an earlier Cub, you'll need to change out the distributor housing to one that accepts the tach drive.

I notice the farmall distributors look all alike are they interchangeable?
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Hi,
Below is a page from the 1965 Cub operator's manual showing the tachometer drive.

Below are pics from TM Tractor of the 2 different Battery Ignition unit drive housings.
The 1st was used beginning when Battery Ignition came out in 1950, up to Cub serial number 192112, which was in late 1955. They have no hole for the tachometer drive.

The 2nd pic shows the housing used for the tach drive, they came out at serial number 192113.
It has the plate over the hole, which a Cub with no tach would have. :)
