Re: underslung exhaust pipe
1953 Cub would have been straight pipe from the factory out of the manifold. You will need the elbow to thread into the manifold and the clamp to hold the exhaust pipe to the elbow. You may already have those items. Tim (tst) makes the underslung pipes.

Re: underslung exhaust pipe
You'll also need the bracket and large u-bolt that holds the muffler at the transmission.

Re: underslung exhaust pipe
Hi,
The under axle exhaust came out in late 1954 on Cubs.
If you are looking for the complete system, TM Tractor at the bottom of the page has most of the parts for the under axle exhaust system.
Below is the page of parts.
You would need the clamp in the 1st line, the 4 parts in the 2nd line, and the pipe on the left in the 3rd line. You can look at the pics. You can also buy the pipe from tst, like was said above.

TM Tractor doesn't have the bracket at the front of the transmission that the U clamp goes on.
Below is a page from the Cub parts manual showing the under axle exhaust system.
The bracket is number 8 in the pic, it gives the IH part number in the description, you can look for one using the part number.

The bracket goes on 2 of the lower transmission bolts.
You might need to use a tap in the manifold threads, before putting in the elbow, to clean the threads.
