Re: Who made this mower for a Lo Boy?
Not positive, but the round deck makes me think Kub Klipper or maybe Pennington.

Re: Who made this mower for a Lo Boy?
What I find interesting is the mower is supported by the square tube through the front bolster and the round eyelet has a spring that attaches and then is connected to the TC. It also has a double drive pulley to a heavy duty gear box connected by double u joint drive shaft.

When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

The square tube looks long enough to allow the mower to be offset to either side. I suspect the eyelet and spring got added by an owner.

It doesn't look like my Kub Klipper...especially the rear mule section

Re: Who made this mower for a Lo Boy?
That is a really odd duck. The only mowers I know of that were shaft/gearbox driven are rear-mounts. The "Sun-Mastr" in this old advertisement kind of resembles it from a drive perspective, but none of the rest of it matches, especially for a belly mount.

Booyah! It's a Caldwell Bantam. There's a photo of another at the bottom of the first page of this thread.

That is a very interesting set up. I like ideal using the front to mount the mower.

The Danco mowers used a similar mounting method (parallel bar linkages), but it attached to the implement pads on the clutch housing rather than through the bolster.

Thanks inairam, the reference thread you referred to is the picture of the same tractor and mower that I purchased from Art Luke estate sold by Mike Davis in Dewey,OK in April of this year. Currently working on getting it running again.

Why the double link for the front mount?

Re: Who made this mower for a Lo Boy?
My guess would be double link would keep the blade parallel to the ground as you raise and lower the the mower deck.

Yes, it keeps the angle of attack of the deck constant throughout different height settings.

Re: Who made this mower for a Lo Boy?
I am trying to work out if I can convert a c-2 deck I have to this set up.
I do not think it will work. My guess is the shaft drive is needed because this is not as "tight" as the rear mount and you would keep loosing the belt.
If you could get it to work it would allow you to go into the the really high stuff at a higher cut height.
