1/2 x 1 3/4 carriage head bolts, according to my parts book.

if you double up use 2 short and 2 long bolts. The manaul lets you use just two bolts when double up in the back.
When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!

I just put a pair on the front and used 1/2"x 2" bolts as there were no 1 3/4" bolts available. With washers the threads only stick out about an 1/8" past the nuts.
