Rusty Sheet Metal Patch

Postby Bill Hudson » Tue Jul 28, 2020 11:45 am

Folks,

For those wanting to replace rusted out sheet metal, take a look at this YouTube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0e9t0zXH94 He is repairing something that is familiar to most of us.

Bill, I moved this to the Cub forum so more will see it since it relates to Cubs. I also left a locked copy in the how to forum so it will be an easy tip to find.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Here's an alternate using FG cloth and resin that works in some situations. Grill from a 76 longstripe:

The gas cap on that hood in the video was the same one we had on our cub for the longest time. We couldn't figure out if it was original or not. I replaced it with one that we knew was the original style from TM but I kept the old one just in case.

I missed that video posted by Matt earlier in the year (thanks, Jim) and thanks to Bill for posting it again. Good info to use in the future.
