Removing calcium Chloride from Rear Tires.
Anybody have a good metthond of removing most, if not all of the chloride in a rear tire? I have most of it out but some still lingers just below the valve stem. I have already put the stem in different positions.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I used a homemade contraption taped to my shop vac. It was the rubber end and hose off a battery tester. I did not get every drop.

Re: Removing calcium Chloride from Rear Tires.
Valve stem down, lower the tire completely to the ground, as in dead flat. Let drain for a while.
Remove tube. Hang up the tube, valve stem down. Turn the bottom of the tube over so that the valve stem is pointing down, towards the ground. May have to do this a couple of times to completely drain it.
I have refilled the tube with some water and flushed several times. Also wash of the outside of the tube and inside of the tractor tire.

Air it up with valve stem down and then unscrew the valve core.
Best way to get it completely empty is replace the tube.

Not wanting to remove the tube, just the weight.

Drain as much fluid out as possible.Barnyard wrote:Not wanting to remove the tube, just the weight.
Flexable hose small enough to fit inside opening with valve stem removed. Long enough to reach the bottom of the tube and extra length to reach below the tire.
Jack up tire, take the weight off, and a couple inches above the ground/pavement. Valve stem at bottom. Insert the hose into the tube. Air compressor for blowing into valve stem. Wrap a cloth around the air chuck nozzle and the valve stem to start syphon process.
Just throwing out an idea. Never tried it. I always removed the tube to clean up the rim.
You could pay a tire shop to suck out the fluid. But, I wouldn't do that because I'm frugal.

I have used a plastic soda straw and a flexable plastic tube small enough to go in the valve base and siphon most of it out. (It takes a while.) You could then refill and flush with water a couple times to dilute the remainder, then add some RV antifreeze or alcohol to prevent freezing.

A primer bulb like an outboard motor fuel tank might work.

My solution too! Then have a chance to clean up rim.
