V belt for Cub 22 mower

Postby TonyTractor » Sat May 23, 2020 10:45 am

Is there a NAPA or Auto Zone equivalent for a pto drive belt for Cub 22 mower? I know TM Tractor has the correct belt, but I would like to start cutting this weekend. (I know, I should have did my inspection last month).

I have a 4.5 inch drive pulley on the pto shaft ( 451 13561 R2) with a 5 foot knife cut on the Cub.

Indecently, here's where it gets interesting, I also have a brand new 4 inch pulley (457 291 R1) that came with a box of parts when I got the Cub but not sure if this can be used with a 5 foot cut. I have the old worn belt that I could bring to the store but I'm not sure the previous owner had the correct belt size to begin with.

The Farm Implements & the Cub 22 manuals show the belt setup, and part numbers for both knife sizes but no mention of pulley diameter for which knife. I know the belt size matters for respective pulley but does the pulley correspond to knife size?

Sorry if this is clear as mud.

It doesn't matter which pulley size is matched up with which length cutter bar. You do need the right length belt for each pulley.

Generic part numbers are listed in this thread:

Actual belt dimensions are in this one:

On page 11 illustration 9 of the Cub 22 owners manual it states in bold text, "do not remove the drawbar from the tractor", does this mean the drawbar is in the forward position?

No, it stays in the rear(usual) position

Edit: you can operate without it, but will require spacer same width as drawbar bracket
