Drawbar mounting
I am new to my 1963 Cub with a 42" woods cutter. Can the drawbar be mounted along with the cutter. I would like to poll a treiler without removing the cutter

Re: Drawbar mounting
The Woods 42 mower is normally attached to the drawbar mounting brackets and the drawbar left in place. Show us a picture of what you have at the back.

Re: Drawbar mounting
Yes. The mower brackets clamp onto the drawbar brackets. If someone doesn't come along by the morning, I'll pull up some photos of mine. After your 2nd post, you can access the free manuals via the QUICK LINKS in the upper left corner...a drop down, then PDF MANUALS, where there should be a link to the Woods Mowers. This might get you started:

Why is that? perhaps we can help with that as well.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Drawbar mounting
Here are some photos that might help:
I have found it easiest to bolt everything together OFF the tractor. It is designed to be lifted into place onto the TAPERED implement bolts, then it swings down and is bolted on TIGHT.
NOTE: Use an implement bolt to make sure that when you clamp the mower bar into place on the drawbar bracket, that you have enough room to slide the tapered bolt through the "hooked" hole. Otherwise you will have to completely remove the tapered bolts to get the assembly on and off. BTDT!! A real pain, because that assembly is very heavy!!

Re: Drawbar mounting
Here are some later photos:
Be sure you install the mower arms onto the mule drive with the required BUSHING in the large hole on the mower arm, and the washers in the appropriate positions, allowing pivoting of the mower.
The easiest way to install it is to grab the rear of the drawbar and lift. It will "roll" vertical. You then move closer to the rear of the tractor and hook the rear (now upper) open tapered hooked hole onto the partially (loosely) installed tapered bolts. Once both sides are hooked, slowly lower the rear of the drawbar, allowing the forward hooked holes to go under the partially installed (loosely) tapered bolts. Once all four are hooked, tight them up VERY tight! Recheck tightness frequently.

Re: Drawbar mounting
Hi,
The IH drawbar uses tapered head bolts to hold it on the final drives.
Below is a listing at TM Tractor for the bolts, you can look at the pics.
