Starter loose wires
My new to me 1948 Cub has a starter that was rebuilt from DB Electric by previous owner in 2017. Wasn't engaging properly. Got into it and inside was gunky, was not cleaned on inside, outside looks new. The 4 bare copper braided wires with ends crimped on are all disconnected hanging free. Should they be connected to something. One of the brush holder springs is broken. (Probably reason for not working properly). Only 2 brushes are in it. 2 hangers are just hanging free. Tried to upload pictures but Too Big and I can't figure out how to downsize an android picture.

Re: Starter loose wires
DB Electric has a 1 year warranty. If you have the original sale document and it's less than one year old, contact DB Electric.
I had a warranty repair on a DB Electric 6 volt starter. The starter's parts were top notch. The assembly was pretty much as described above. The starter was replaced without a problem.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Starter loose wires
Do have receipt from PO but it is over 3 years old. Is there a starter schematic somewhere? I will see if I can talk to someone at DB next week.
