Here is a better deal, if you guys think this is the correct bearing?

If the consensus is YES, then I think I will go ahead and order this.

Dale,
This is the one I bought. It is in the US already and much quicker to get.

I thought I had made another post, but I must not have hit SUBMIT!

Here are some more photos of the two curved pieces. Since they appear to make a ring, there must be at least 2 or 3 pieces missing, and although I have not cleaned out the stripped block, unless they have been pulverized, they aren't in there. Maybe they came out when the transmission was previously drained?

They look to be about 1/4" tall, 1/8" thick and make maybe 3/4" diameter ring? Hmmmm?? :?

Thanks for any ideas!

You need to check the surface of the input shaft where the small needle bearing rides. That bearing has no inner race, so the shaft takes the wear.

I'm betting the ring used to be a magnet. That looks like the magnets used in the rear axle of a truck.

Not magnetic. It IS steel, and with the top and bottom of the "ring" looking finished, it doesn't look like it broke OFF something else. I will take more closeups in a bit...just might trigger someone's imagination. Looks almost like a spacer...maybe even slightly tapered? More photos might help.

One problem I don't need to worry about, there IS NO input shaft, since this is only the block off an unknown tractor. In fact, it doesn't even have a shifter/cover. Someone needed one a few years ago. I just want it as a spare on the shelf. After it's done, I'll paint it, plug holes, block where the shifter goes, and wrap it up!

I'm fairly sure this is NOT critical...but I do enjoy trying to figure things like this out!

#6 is intact, and the diameter of #6 is too large (graph paper is in 1/4" grids):

This mystery may never be solved! I have finished cleaning the block, and there were no other pieces, nor was there any indication of a broken casting anywhere. Besides, this metal is different from anything I see associated with the transmission. Oh well...

I finally got to use my engine stand! It was perfect for being able to rotate the heavy transmission block for cleaning, and will be used for painting when I am finished putting parts back in. It has certainly made maneuvering it easier!

I LOVE my little mini angle grinder for this type of work!!

And I have received most of the parts, only waiting on one more bearing. Cleaned up the diff bearing retainers, and installed the new shaft seals, but will wait to put in the new o-ring seals until I check specs, so the retainer may be removed/installed easily.

I polished up all those shims for good sealing.

Maybe the odd pieces came from the same place the Zerk fitting came from. The shims don't have to do any sealing.
