Fuel Valve Leaking - Also
So when I saw 57j2olds post it got me thinking, I didn't want to hijack his post so I figured I'ld just make a new one.
The other day I was out taking a look at the gas leak on my 65 to try to figure out if I just needed a new gasket and screen. With you guys talking about the thread packing I found that the gas line was leaking a little and needed to be tightened up, so that fixed part of the problem. I'm still going to clean out the sediment bowl and put a new screen and gasket on it so I know thats done. But I still found this leak from the valve when it is in between the open and close. Do I repair this with the teflon plumbers cord like suggested in 57j2olds post or do I need to do something else?
I'm going to be ordering some parts at the end of the week and just wanted to make sure there isn't something else I needed to get.
Thanks

As stated in the other thread, your valve is a backseating valve. It needs to be all the way open or all the way closed in order not to leak. In any event, your packing nut is definitely too loose. Tightening should take care of it. If not, you need to replace the packing.

I agree, the nut needs to be tightened a fair amount. Also, unle@s I'm mistaken, when you said it was all the way open/closed...it was the opposite! Clockwise closes.
