Battery charger/maintainer
I keep a battery charger /maintainer on my 48 cub . The cub has a 4 position switch ,does it make any difference what position the switch is in L H whole maintaining the battery.

Nope. Those positions only control the generator output which is always 0 when the engine isn't running.
But, it should probably be on L when you restart the tractor. Shouldn't need H with a completely charged battery and using it could shorten your battery life.
