Re: Side emblem
Hi,
That is the right pic above.
But I think Jim B. has said there were some that were industrial made starting about then.
Look on the serial number plate, it tells the model on the upper line, above the serial number.
It might not be readable anymore.
It if is a regular Farmall Cub, then this info is right.
The name plates on the Farmall Cub hood say McCormick Farmall. The plates on the lower hood side panels say Cub.
The industrial Cubs had different names.
Below is a page from the 1959 Cub owner's manual showing a Cub in the lower pic.

Below is a page from the Cub parts manual, it shows the serial numbers when they were the same style.

Below is the 1959 Cub owner's manual, if you don't have it. The experts on here recommend reading it. It has lots of info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. There is a table of contents on page 2.
It has pics of how the Cubs originally were in it.
Page 3 has a pic of the serial number plate.

The 1955 Cub owner's manual has more info about maintenance in it. They removed info from the 1959 manual, and put it in a separate manual, I guess. There are more Cub owner's manuals at the top of the page, at Cub Info.
Below are pics from the Cub parts manual, of the hood and names. The 1959 style hood is in the upper pic. The names are numbers 25 and 26 in the pic. It tells about them on the 2nd page.
