Hi all. I removed all the steel emblems from the tank before I did my bodywork and paint. The posts on the back , I'm guessing, were previously broken so the emblems were attached with small screws. After bodywork, I reattached them the same way, but I'm thinking maybe I should back it up with some adhesive. Just wanted to run it by the board to see what you might recommend for this situation. On the right side of the hood a door had been cut out I"m guessing for easier access to the engine. The emblem on this side had been cut into three pieces and I'm guessing at some point the 'B" in Cub was lost. If anyone knows of a source for a 'B", I'd appreciate it. I've attached some pictures to give you a better idea. Thanks.

Re: Attaching Farmall Cub Emblems
They do make a double sided tape for the job. Some years ago I painted a motorcycle that the factory emblems were attached with tape. I picked up some tape at the auto parts store, stuck one side to the emblem and cut away the excess with a knife. The emblems held fine through all the years I owned the motorcycle.

Re: Attaching Farmall Cub Emblems
I'm not sure where TM is sourcing their emblems, but the "International Cub" ones I got from Steiner for my '58 LoBoy had the pins not very accurately located, causing them to misalign with the holes in the hood. I had to clip one pin off on each emblem as it was mislocated by about 3/32".

NAPA or any auto place has emblem tape. I used it on 2 emblems and it has held well.

Re: Attaching Farmall Cub Emblems
Ditto on the emblem tape. Unfortunately, a new set of emblems wouldn't help with the cutaway side! Several folks have repaired the cut hoods, so it can be done.
I'm not home now (in Belize SCUBA diving!
), but I MIGHT have a partial emblem that would have your missing letter...not sure. If I do, you are welcome to it for free. I'll let you know...assuming I remember!! You might want to remind me in a few days!

Don McCombs: Thanks Don. I will take another look.
MiCarl: Thank you, I believe this is what you were referring. It was made by 3M. Found it at Autozone. Haven't tried it yet.
Urbish: Thanks, Its always a downer when the new part you order has issues.
ajhbike: Thanks, that's good to hear. I'll try to apply it to the emblems in the next few days. I may need to cut the tape down a bit.
Dale: I fixed a lot of imperfections on the tank, but decided to leave the door as a conversation piece. Looking back, maybe I should have fixed it. If you by chance have a partial emblem with the 'B', I'd be very interested. Scuba diving sounds fun! I've heard Belize is a great place to dive -lots of dolphins.
Bermuda Ken: Lol, now that I think about it a lot of my stuff is the deluxe custom model!
Again, I appreciate you help.

Re: Attaching Farmall Cub Emblems
Finally got out to the farm, and it seems I must have already given my broken length of emblem to someone else. I do have a complete set of emblems, but that won't help with your situation. Sorry.
It's just part of his history, right?!

Re: Attaching Farmall Cub Emblems
I think I would take a trip to the local junkyard and find me a Buick. Or any model with individual letters with a B and slap that on there. I mean there's a certain standard at play here to continue. PO cut a door and used FANCY hinges (that don't match) cut up the emblem and screwed it back on. What would be better than a B that don't quite match!

I’ve used this tape on my truck for the trim. Trust me, it’s not coming off till you take it off.
