Is there a how-to to rebuild the steering box? My 72 is leaking oil and has play in the wheel. I can’t find anything in search.

Re: Steering gear box
My '49 Cub has the same problem (without loose steering); likely a leaking lower oil seal, and it's easy to get a new seal, but it looks like the whole front end wants disassembly in order to do it. If there's an easier way, I'm open to enlightenment.

Re: Steering gear box
Hi,
Below is a post from this month about replacing the steering gear lower oil seal.
You have to remove the front axle, and the lower part of the steering gear, to replace the lower oil seal.

The front end of the Cub has to be supported well to remove the front axle.
If you have loose or worn bushings in the steering gear, while it is apart is a good time the replace them.
TM Tractor has new bushings, gaskets, and seals.
I would read the steering section in the Cub service manual also.
Below are pages from the Cub parts manual showing the steering gear.
