Postby Drfting1 » Wed Jul 24, 2019 1:21 pm

Just pick up this trailer for the Cub ($50), know it's not a true IH one, but will make a great winter project

Nice - do you know what brand it is?

I know of a David Bradley trailer, similar to this, that's in front of a delli/market near my house - it's sort of a display in front of the place.

Not sure exactly what make it is... looks like it had fenders at one time. But when I'm done it will be IH.

But if someone has an idea who made this, please share, would like to know so when I do restore it, I can figure out how the bed attached to the front, If it was dump or not, someone did a modification to the front I'm assuming because of rust. would like to get it back to original, but put IH decals on it

Bill, that'll fit nicely behind a Cub. Are you going to restore to use, show or both?

Going to restore and use like I did my first cub and implements.... This way it preserves it and makes it easier to work on.

And for the Sears model, I can't find a tag anywhere on it or rivet holes where one might have been... Unless it's behind where the modification was done

Pretty much the same it seems, except for the different fenders. maybe I'll never know, I did notice it was originally white and someone painted over it...unless they used a white primer?

Guess I'll figure out how the front of the bed was attached when I take it apart... If the Ben-Hur didn't have an I'd tag.... Maybe it's that model then, I didn't notice one on that one picture

Note the tail gate. Heavy duty hinges, thickness of closure mechanism. Military maybe?

Never mind. Blew up photo, looks like repair job.

They look to be original hinges... Been schooling myself on this trailer last night... Found a pretty interesting post from a different forum on this type of trailer, seen one trailer on there that would have it's manufacture tag in the location of where a previous owner did a modification on the one I have. Not even planning on restoring it to at least this winter.... But maybe one day if I have some spare time I'll take a peak what's behind the wood. More excited about restoring this, think I'll go the extra and make it road worthy, this way if I restore an old Jeep down the road, I'll have a pretty cool trailer to tow behind it
