hydraulic pump ???
Is it possible for a bad hydraulic pump to cause enough drag to make the engine hard to crank? I am actually having trouble with my 49 C and am seeking help on the C forum, but since the cub system is similar, and there is more traffic on the cub sight, I was hoping maybe someone here might know. Just hoping someone might have some insight before I drain the lines and remove the pump to find out.

Re: hydraulic pump ???
Hydraulics can lug the engine some. But shouldn’t keep it from firing up. When you shut the tractor down, move levers so the hydraulic pistons are retracted into hydraulic body. That will take care of that problem
Edit: I suppose it’s possible if hydraulics are in need of service (such as clogged filter), that it would lug it down more. But I would suspect the body and not the pump. Service the body by changing fluid and check filter
