Magneto coil bar.. tough to remove!

Should this coil bar be difficult to remove, or should it slide in and out relatively easily? I’m thinking that it shouldn’t be this difficult to remove, because if it was difficult to remove, it’ll be difficult to get installed without cracking the case on the coil. Maybe the coil swelled up and that’s why it was hard to get out? This coil is no good I need to replace it, which is why I’m asking. Ideas?

I drive the old one out with a hammer and a piece of wood. Clean it up good and it will slide into the new coil easier.

Ok! I got the parts on order and they should be here in a few days. I’ll report back...
