Hood Repair

Postby ajhbike » Mon Aug 13, 2018 10:45 am

I have some dents that are such that they can't be pounded out...1/16-1/8" deep about the size of the round part of a ball peen hammer. what is the best stuff to use to build up the dents and then sand them smooth?

A stud welder/puller could be used to pull them. Then finish it with body filler. If dents are on the gas tank drain it and fill with water to be safe. It doesn't generate a lot of heat but vapor is dangerous. I bought one from Harbor Freight.

Thanks guys...I will probably go the Bondo route. One of the repair jobs is on a JD 3020 and the tin is alot thicker than the flimsy farmall tin.
