Windmill

In between all the tractors I picked up a 1920 Aermotor 8 ft Windmill a while back as a pile of old mangled parts and slowly been picking at it, down the road it is going on a tower and will pump water, got it mostly together on a test and assembly stand to make sure it all works correctly before it goes 40 ft in the air

That's awesome, Tim!
I love windmills. I bought a Dempster 34' tower and the remains of an 8' mill years ago with the intentions of completing and installing it. It sat behind my place in Nebraska long enough for a small tree to grow through it. Someone asked about buying the tower to make a deer stand out of it. I figured I'd better do something with it before it disappeared, so we erected the tower. Maybe one day I'll get the rest figured out. But I think I'll have to settle for a modern one to aerate my pond.

Good luck and keep us updated with your progress,

Sure looks better than the monstrosities getting put up all over the north country of New York!

Would love to get my hands on one myself.

took me about each part apart and together about 5 times to figure it all out, not many instruction manuals laying around for this or what I did find was worthless, its spinning now, pretty quiet

Neat find! Hang in there and get it going! None of them left in the country working anymore! ---- at least not around here!

I have, just the bare tower, wheel and gear box gone well before I bought the place. The former neighbor, across the road, had a functioning mill till they failed to secure it during a wind storm. I picked up several of it’s vanes from my back yard. Then, they backed a semi truck into one of the tower legs, bending it up pretty badly. After that, they tore it down and scrapped it. It’s sadly gone for good, I miss it.
