What's wrong with this?

I ordered something off the internet from Peabody, MA. It was shipped from a warehouse in York, PA giving it to a contract carrier to deliver to the Post Office to be delivered to my home. It now sets in the contract carriers facility in Glendale Heights, IL. York, PA is 345 miles southeast of me and Glendale Heights, IL is 411 west of me. "Modern efficiency" does leave a lot to be desired. What, no Post Offices between those two cities? OK, I'll get off my soapbox.

My gripe to add to yours, I recently shipped via USPS, a small manila envelope with nothing but a small (weight was 1.7 oz.) part about 125 miles. Cost was $6.95 but it did get delivered!! Stan

I ship rockshaft bushings (3 oz) around the US all the time in 6x9 padded envelopes via USPS for for just under $4.00 and have no problems.

and the cost $$$$$ keep going up for such good service, they have lost much of mine, sent to the wrong place, damaged

I bought something off ebay a few weeks ago, it came from Iowa. It was shipped via USPS to Kansas City, then to St. Louis, and then to Peoria, then Chicago, back to St. Louis and then to my local town. I have also seen where a package will sit in a USPS distribution center for a couple of days until it gets moving again. The post office isn't very efficient and seems to be getting worse.

As I read it Bill's complaint rests with the contract carrier not with USPS since the contract carrier still has it. Contract carrier probably UPS since they do work with USPS. I get stuff shipped from Springfield MO (Grizzly) who has a contract with UPS for all shipments, including letters. Sometimes UPS brings sometimes USPS and I have no complaints either way. Now ask me about FedEx, not my favorite carrier. Vern

Correction. I was told by the PO that they no longer work wioth UPS.

Vern is correct, the problem is with the contract carrier not the USPS. As of this morning, USPS is still awaiting the package!

Ordered some parts for my Lesco 48" walk-behind with a 17hp Kawasaki FH500V engine off Amazon.
They were picked up on Monday 7/28. $12.95 Shipping.
Amazon Tracking shows them delivering Monday 8/4....hopefully I get them tomorrow, seeing as they are in my town's post office.🧐
