What is it?

Another interesting, but unknown to me, tool I found while going through yet another box in the barn.

Anybody know what type of pliers it is?

I have no idea but I wouldn't think it would be useful for gripping anything much larger than where the plier is now open to since it would make the handles hard to grip with one hand. The bend on the tips is interesting. Vern

canning tongs also used for loosening or tightening jar lids come ti mind, but another possibility is heater/radiator hos pliers used for working the hoses off connectors.

I think those would be a little heavy duty for canning tongs. But that's a better guess than anything I can come up with which is nothing.

And you'd have to have big hands to get one around the handles if the ends were spread very far apart.
