Has anyone had any issues with steiners lately? I spoke to a parts outfit that used to be associated and was told they could no longer recommend Steiners. No reason given. Who do you all use for R&R parts source?

Like the others, I have had excellent success ordering from TM and order from them 90% of the time. Regarding Steiners, I have not ordered recently but they do (or did) have good customer service with regard to returns and replacement. The only other thing I will mention is that (unless they made a change) the Deluxe Seat Cushion they sell has internal springs and is superior to the ones with only foam.

Thanks each of you Will look into TM

I haven't dealt with Steiners in a few years. If they were a baseball team with a batting average of .500 they would be considered really good, but not so with the problem average of the parts I got from them in the past. TM has been a good source for me as well as Brillman. I will pay the long dollar for quality parts because I am not a fan of doing a job twice because I saved a couple of bucks.

I have ordered from TM and Steiners with good success except the last time with Steiners. The coil was suppoused (sp) to be an exact fit for a cub. Didn't fit so my coil now sticks out from under the hood, has run good but a pureist would have a heart attack. Vern

Post Script. The cub is not left outside and my mother taught me to come in out of the rain.

For non cub parts (only because I haven't had to get anything for it) Steiners has always been very good. For the number of parts in their inventory and other suppliers the fact that they have a lot of parts from China is reality and going to be reality. Remember when we all avoided "Made in Japan"? I am over it...

Well, I just recently had to rebuild my touch control unit. I ended up getting my parts from Steiner because they had one of the boots that I needed that TM didn't have and their prices were a bit less as well. So far everything works well with the rebuild. If their parts are cheap Chinese parts I'm sure I will find out soon enough.

At one time, Steiners had a reputation for quality parts even if slightly spendy. I think that over time the actual manufacturing sources have dried up to the point that you get the same parts no matter who you buy from. Note that some vendors may be doing their own quality check on the parts they sell, thus avoiding some aggravation for their customers. I don't know where Steiner may fall in that process.

I have been buying some parts from All States Ag Parts (www.tractorpartsasap.com). This is the parent company of Yesterday's Tractors. My experience with them has been good. I don't know how they are on returns as I have never had to return anything.

Really appreciate the response and information from each of you! Very grateful. Had not heard of tractorpartsasap and will check them out too. Probably end up using all of them it sounds like unless one has everything I need for initial work.

hit and miss with steiners, some parts are good, some are ******
That has been my experience with steiners as well. Some are good and some are just not right or quickly fail. Picked up a replacement temperature gauge from them because i wanted more "original" than the fleet supply generic one and it was complete junk.

Years ago I wanted a carb kit. Shipping back then was $5.00. I decided to get three. Shipping was $15.00. When they arrived, they were all packed together in one small $5.00 if it fits it ships box. They didn't seem to allow for discounts on multiple items in one package. I quit using them.
