Shot

I got my second Moderna shot yesterday morning. Definitely a different reaction than the first. More pain at the injection site and just before going to bed last night, started in with chills, achy feeling and a mild headache. After a mostly sleepless night, things are much better today. I guess I’ll survive. :D

Thanks for sharing that, Don. It seems that it's a crap shoot, whether you'll have side effects, or not. I hope my second dose goes better than that. The first shot just gave me some soreness, that's still hanging on 4 days later, not bad but, for sure, know it's there.

Interestingly, my wife had no apparent reaction to the second shot. Same day, same time, same vaccine lot. Basically, I think it’s purely an individual thing and you won’t know until you get it.

Gee Bill....

You better get it if you wanna hang with the cool kids! 8)

Ever hear of peer pressure!!!

Remember...... Do not jump off the bridge just because everyone else does it too!

This happened yesterday and is important information for us in the older age group.

A friend had his 2nd dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center after which he began to have blurred vision on the way home. When he got home, he called the vaccination center for advice and to ask if he should go see a doctor, or be hospitalized. He was told NOT to go to a doctor or a hospital, but return to the vaccination center immediately and pick up his glasses!!

Oh-my........ That was funny!

Ohio opened the available age to 60+ this week so I tried to get mine scheduled on line.... No luck! Wife took her mother for her shot at noon. Wife called me and said they had appointments available until 4:00, so shot it was! I was able to schedule the mom-in-law and my 2nd shots at the same time. So far, no noticable issues from the shot, just minor tenderness if I think about it and touch it. So, I just stop thinking about it and touching it!

Wife and I have been on the Missouri COVID-19 Vaccine list for weeks. Basically you get an E-mail notification of vaccination sites some place in Missouri. You then click the site and your name is placed on that sites list. All sites so far have been a 3 or 4 hour trip one way. Most times the sites shot schedule is filled before your application.

This morning wife walked in the the Osage County Health Department, Mo. and placed our names on their list. Same day, 3 PM, the health dept called.
Said they had left over doses and asked if we would like our shots. Said we would be there in 5 minutes. About 40 minutes after the call and we had received our 1st dose and were home.

Did they give you appointments for the 2nd one? Wife will get her 2nd on Tues., I get mine Wed.
No definitive appointment.

Osage is a rural county. The health dept has been getting between 200 and 300 vaccine shots a week, sometimes. When they get the shots they have been giving the shots to locations where there are large groups of people, such as schools.

What happened yesterday, the nurse from the health department had some vaccine left over from the location she was providing them.

Received my first shot (Pfizer) on Tues 3/23. They gave me a vaccination card with the second shot scheduled exactly 3 weeks later 4/13 with the same time slot. No noticeable side effects.

Receive the card with no second shot date. Was informed that I would get the 2nd shot at or after 3 weeks when vaccine was available.

My wife and I got our first round of the Pfizer shot last Wednesday. We both had sore arms later that day but the soreness was gone by lunch the next day. We both had a few more aches and pains and felt a little lethargic two days after the shot but by day four we were both back to normal. We get our second shot on the 21st and I’ll be glad to have it behind me. I’m ready to stop wearing a mask and a couple of weeks after that second shot I’m going to quit wearing one. If a business asks me to leave for not wearing a mask I will buy they are going to have to ask me otherwise I’m just going to go about my business
