I am working on repairing implement holes and tracking down a battery "drain" on a friend's '53 Cub. I ordered some threaded inserts and the drill bit to match, but they won't be here until Monday. I didn't feel like removing the hood to do the wiring trace needed, so was at a standstill.
Unfortunately, the tractor lives outdoors, so I assume there will be water in the transmission. I do plan to change fluids before I return the tractor to him. Meanwhile, I wanted to make a shifter cover for it. Milk jugs weren't tall enough, and the 5gal pail that's normally used looks ugly!
I happen to play tennis, and a pet peave of mine is that the plastic cans the balls come in are not recyclable. So I thought maybe I could put 2 cans together and make one sleak shifter cover. Here are the results...amazing how much fun a stupid little project can be on a cold boring day! Now it's time to go get some lunch!! I think I deserve it!
