Sandable aluminum colored filler

I have an oval dog leg emblem. I have done the process in the How To Forum in the past with these emblems where it is painted with black paint, then the letters and outer ring are sanded down to the aluminum. Then it is sprayed with clear coat. I really like that look. I have black spray paint on hand and I have clearcoat and I have JB weld.

My problem is that this emblem is fairly rough and there are big gouges in the lettering. It may never look pristine but is worth saving. Is anybody aware of a JB Weld type of product, preferably in a small tube, that dries to the color of aluminum and can be sanded.

My plan would be to fill in the gouges and then do what I’ve done before per the How To. The problem is the gouges the letters are way too deep to the sand out. JB Weld dries too dark.

I guess my other option would be to keep the aluminum color. Fix gouges and sand then spray it with aluminum colored paint followed by clearcoat. There’s a little hole in it that would need a JB well repair but for the gouges, does anybody know if glazing putty would work for that? Certainly would be easy to work with and easy to sand. I just don’t know if it would here would adhere to the aluminum

Thanks

Thanks everyone for the replies. It’s worth $20 to me to try one of these products. I really like that oval emblem. If I’m able to fix it and make it look nice, I’ll post a picture.

I'd suggest mixing a small batch and maybe putting a little on the back of the emblem to see how the color matches when dry.
