Radiator hose

Today my radiator hose sprung a leak. I bought a new hose and hoping someone has a trick on putting it on without having to take off the metal connection. I have attached a picture below showing how small of a gap is between the two pieces. Thanks.

Sorry, but removing the water inlet is about the only way!

It looks like your engine would benefit from having it removed anyway...you can grind the rust down so that you'll get a good seal on the new hose on both stubs, and it's a perfect opportunity to flush the engine.

The manual has a section on how to do that using Washing Soda. I'm sure your tractor would be very happy if you did that for it!!

P.S. It's a very easy gasket to make yourself!

I saw a video on youtube about using a zip tie to install a hose similar to that on a caterpillar engine. Can’t find it now.
Found it. Don’t know if it will work on a cub, but worth a try.
