Google 'ladder jacks' and you will find lots of modern versions for sale, presumably OSHA approved. However, Dale's may not meet OSHA's standards.

I picked up a hardley used fancy aluminum set fmade by Werner, at auction for about 30 bucks. (Looks like the one one in the pic from barnyard)
