I have a 72’ Lo-Boy 154 that is new to me. When it is driving excess oil is coming out of the gear shift selector and pooling on top of the case. I assumed it was over filled and drained it down to the overflow plug. Is there something that I am missing? Could it be a crankcase breather problem? Thanks a lot!

Your tractor serial number is above 18709. Parts manual shows the hydraulic oil filter housing attached to/plumbed to the top of the gear shift housing cover.

Suspect a hydraulic fluid leak at a fitting.

Hi Dave I have a 154 that was doing the same thing I found that the hydraulic rubber return line was partially collapsed due to the routing of the hose and I also replaced the filter at the same time so im only 99% sure it is the hose anyway I mowed the lawn for an hour and no leaks

Hi Zane,
Welcome to the forum. It looks like your response correctly addresses the issue that David was having. The time stamp on David’s post was almost a year ago, so he may not read your post. Hopefully he has resolved the problem.
