just tore down the carb on my M. i already bought the kit from Mcdonald Carb. i noticed when i took the throttle shaft out it did not have the notch like it was supposed to. Took the bushings out and there was no hole there either. Started doing some digging once I got the id tag cleaned up and found the carb was actually from a 300 or 350. Will i get reduced performance out of a carb from a smaller tractor? id number was 361525R92

IMHO. The simple answer is yes. Does it matter? Depends upon how your going to use the tractor. If your using it for light duty work you may not notice a difference. If your really putting her to work I'd say it would make a big difference. It's a matter of getting enough air to the engine to make the needed horsepower for the work. Hope this helps.
