How to repair idler pulley

I had to adjust the belt on the 42" mower so I took the pulley off to show how I repaired it last time (Sept 91) When the bearing goes bad don't keep mowing stop so it does not mess up the pulley. Drill the rivets out and replace the bearing. It's a Fafnir 203KRR2 or equivalent. Replace rivets with bolt and lock nut. I alternated the way I put them through the holes so the pulley would stay balanced. Did this one in 1991 so I know it will hold up.

Thanks Mike... the same pulley is used on a C-2 mower and the part number got superseded with one that is more flat than V. And almost double the price, $45.

Mike Could a chainsaw chain rivet spinner be used to apply new rivets??? Mine is up the country but if i remember it correctly the working part is quite a bit above the bench in order to provide room for the handle to spin.

Bill, Not sure what you have but if the rivets are 1/4 "Dia. it might work. I used the nut and bolts because i had them and my riveter is just one of those small hand held ones.
