Hip Replacement

Good luck, Buddy! I’m sure you’ll be fine. They are probably going to use IV sedation instead of gas. You don’t hear much about gas anymore. You’ll be out and back awake before you know it.
 
Hey all.....Wow ,,,was that quick...I was in at 9am and out at 3pm...Great staff at the surgical center...Was making jokes and havin fun...tried to give the prep nurse 5 bucks to shave the other side...hahahahaha!! My gas passer was funny...cracked some jokes with him[didn't get gased] IV....Woke up and nurse said time to get up ,so I stood up...I was then told to use the walker...My surgeon did a great job.....no more bone pain.....feels like a charlie horse....icing it down....Not takin the high power pain meds....don't need them...PT came friday [home PT thank God!!!]Said I'm doing real well...Walked out to my mail box Saturday...I'll do that every day now..Hope to go further...PT back Monday...No driving because its the right hip....No tractors for awhile either,along with motorcycles...RATS...enjoying the healing...Living alone makes you do it....Breathing exercises,get up every hour and walking aroun the house...meds ...cooking and takin my meds...Nice to be retired!!!!Thanks all.......doing great so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Great news Kevin. Sounds like the doc and nurses I've had. Sure makes it a lot easier to feel like your among friends. Keep moving, just don't overdue it! I tried that the morning after my 2nd knee before the nerve block wore off!
 
Great to hear Kevin! You might be able to get back on the bike before cold weather sets in. When I had my first hip done, I was back on my dirt bike riding on the trails in northern Michigan with my buddies after 7 or 8 weeks. Keep moving and do all the exercises they give you to do and you'll recover very quickly.
 
Ok...here is the latest...Went to the Doctors yesterday....4 more weeks of no driving...Not happy about that...OH WELL....The PA said I'm strong as a horse..Tested my leg out...About threw her across the room...Told her that therapy was taking me off the walker unto a cane...Today therapy came,off walker and using the cane...Was shown how to use it right...rh hip...left hand.....rh foot and cane in same movement...still doing exercises...hip doing great...me...mad cause I ain't driving...PT ends Weds unless they order more,which I think the will do...I sure can't drive there!!!!!!!!!!! I love having NO PAIN!!!!!!! And no more jimping around!!!!!

Great news Kevin! Keep working on using it and remember the little engine that could, just keep saying I think I can, I think I can:)
 
4 weeks......2 more no driving[hahahah] walking 2 to 3 miles a day....Went to a park thats nearby...4 miles from the house...Real nice park....got beavers in it...still on a cane some what...able to sleep on my rh side now also....Enjoying my walks......perfect weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
