Saw an article on the Farmall H in Hemming's Motor News.
It said the IH emblem was a representation of a guy on a tractor.
Does anyone know if this is a known fact or an urban legend?

I've heard it, and accepted it as fact, since it sure looks like a guy on an H to me.......

We need a pic of EJP on his H from a perfect front angle to decide for sure, I guess......

I believe Raymond Lowery(sp?) designed that logo for IH. I have always taken it as fact.

Thats what I heard too, makes sense to me so I believe it.

The designer was Raymond Loewy. He designed many industrial logos and many logos that you would recognize today.
The IH design being representative of a man on a tractor is pretty much the accepted opinion.
