FarmallCub.Com at RPRU 2013, Lima, OH

Over the past several months I've seen quite a few members posting that they are planning to attend RPRU in Lima, Ohio. I'm not sure how many are also members of International Harvester Collectors and plan to bring tractors/displays. I'm throwing this out to see if there is any interest in us trying to cluster our exhibits together as a group. It could serve as a gathering spot for our members, both exhibitors and non-exhibitors, and have a bit of a CubFest feel. :{_}: I was told by "Merk", one of our members and an organizer of RPRU, it would be permitted. Some of us who live close by could bring our stuff in early and reserve some space for the group. What say you :?:

Sounds good to me also. We can talk about it at Barnyard's.

Larry

Yes, talk it up at the four MiniFest/CubFests happening between now and RPRU. Sounds like a great idea.

Bill

I just spent the day at the "GOTTA BE NC" show here in Raleigh and there is a couple who has rooms at RPRU that they do not need and will be cancelling on Mon if nobody else wants them. I do not know how many or where they are, but you can call me at 919-360-7979 if you want me to grab them. I will be there again Sat & Sun.

Denny--I think it's a good idea. I won't be able to attend the RPRU this year, but am involved (somewhat) with the 2015 RPRU being held in Sedalia, MO (Missouri State Fair Grounds). Our chapter president said we could set up a tent if we wish--just as long as we don't sell anything. No rental fee for the space and it's on a first-come-first-served basis. I think it would be beneficial for area Cubbers to arrive, pitch a tent and have a centralized meeting place at each RPRU.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at the 2015 RPRU in Sedalia.

Ok you all.... tell me now. I have been wondering if RPRU should be added to the CubFests and Gatherings Calendar. If there is going to be a Cub contingent at RPRU and have even a small space at RPRU where Cubbers can congregate and spend time together then I want to put it on the Calendar and will each year if you decide to do that.

So.. tell me.. Is it Game ON! :?:

Sounds like a done deal to me.

I think it should be included. Just grabbed one of those rooms I posted that were available, for myself and now plan to go from the 18th through the 22nd. I'll be driving, but not taking anything except maybe a chair! I look forward to joining others from the forum as well as Chapter 37 - Eastern NC. If anyone needs a ride and lives along a route from Chapel Hill, NC to Lima, Ohio, let me know.

Denny, I could bring my 1st load a couple days early, along with my 10 X 20 canopy. Perhaps you can meet me to help erect it. We'll talk about it at the Bash.

I also have a couple 10x20 canopies and a 20x20 (even a 40x40) I could bring. They will be set up at the Bash so, like the other said, we can discuss it there and see what works best.

Before the Bash I'll contact Merk about using a larger canopy/canopies. I had originally asked about using my popup (10 X 10) personally and he told me small popups were permitted in the display area. I can't help but think larger canopies would be allowed if they were over a row of Cubs and not taking up extra space in the display area. The banner Bigdog used at the Tug is available would make a nice display for our group and enhance the RPRU.

I will be there with the donut hunter. We have a vendor spot (don't know where) but will be involved in whatever you have going.

RPRU has now been added to the Calendar. Used look for CubFest tent for lack of better description. Will need clarification guys .. maybe a pic of the tent from earlier events would be useful.

Like the others I think its a Great idea. I'll be their sometime on Thursday with Larry & our wives. If I can get him up that early. :P I'll have my Demo & a golf cart.

This weekend I spoke to Dale Merkle, the general chairman of RPRU 2013, at the Wapakoneta, Ohio tractor show. He gave me an enthusiastic approval of using a larger canopy for our group at Red Power :{_}: I will start another thread to find out how many Cubs we can expect in attendance.
