Or if you happen to have a small dead blow hammer. LOL. I bought a set of 3 different size dead blow hammers at Harbor Freight a few years ago, and it has amazed me how much I use them, especially the bigger one, and how well they have held up to some serious abuse. When I have something stuck that needs a little persuasion to get it apart that dead blow hammer has become my tool of choice. Not only does it work good, but I do not cause as much damage with it as I do with a regular hammer.Bigdog":p4sheash said:Light taps with a small hammer - this is the exception to my signature line.
Glad you got it apart but isn't there a tab and notch to keep it from twisting and to get it aligned right? :?regwal":z3bq19jc said:I did all these suggestions and added "twist with strap wrench". Not sure what helped the most but it is now free without damage.

You just stated something that a lot of people forget, not just on tractors but on every problem that accumulates over time in life. It is not usually one sudden thing that fixes it, but an accumulation of several things together. That covers a stuck distributor cap, aged wiring, or government finances. Everyone, including myself looks for a single fix, but it is usually several things combined that fix it.regwal":ugwnelxa said:........ All these suggestions helped I'm sure because I tried them all.
