I believe I had communicated with that fellow about the total number of IBs produced. Although the record indicates a certain total, what he mentioned was that the years of production do not necessarily equal the year of the tractors. He mentioned that some were assembled later by hardware stores, etc. from available parts meaning the actual dates of later machines were not really known. When I told him my serial number, it was an eye-opener for him in that mine had a serial number higher than any posted in the records he had posted on his site. He deduced - based on the total produced each year - that mine would be a 1956 model. So, the actual build dates of later models shown is somewhat higher than those published dates. For the record, mine may very well be the "newest" of all IBs.
