Changing front wheel width

I have enjoyed all of the help and knowledge offered-up here. I was having an awful time moving the front wheels out from roughly 40” spacing that was set from 1949. The right side took about 4 hours to move. The left side was worse, I thought I would look for something better. After looking at all of the other ideas I came up with this setup. It took me an hour or so to make this contraption, but it only took about 30 minutes to ease the left side out. I had already worked on it for a couple of hours before I built this thing. I hope it helps someone else.IMG_2288 Small.jpeg

torch and big pipe wrench along with big hammer got mine out ! Didnt take too long and they were rusted like being welded in! NASTY, but I got them freed up and pushed in as far as they would go.

Yeah I did something similar on the right side but the left side wouldn’t budge 😂

I pulled mine out and ground all of the rust off then greased them heavy and slid them back in so if the next guy wants to move them he can.

mine had chicken manure packed around them at that is like acid so they were really bad shape. I cleaned them, washed them, then greased them heavy to keep any further rusting.

I would like to redo mine in the future. I’ll probably get a second super A to use while I restore this one
