C rebuild to Super C

I’m getting ready to overhaul my 49 C I’d like to upgrade it to Super C specs. I understand that the cylinder sleeves and pistons are larger and have a higher compression ratio.

Is the cam different? Are there any other differences or upgrades that need to be made. I’ve already got a water pump to upgrade the cooling system

Thanks

Mike

Most new sleeve sets for C's are an overbore kit to 3-1/8" which would put you to Super C specs. Pretty sure the cams are the same. I wouldn't worry too much about a water pump unless you plan to pull the snot out of it, the radiator outlet size on a C is slightly smaller than the inlet on the water pump for a Super C. I can't remember the exact size, but it's like an 1/8 difference in size, so you'd have to find a hose to fit. I believe they increased the maximum engine rpms to gain extra power along with the larger bore.

Farmall C and Super C are both rated at 1650 rpm. Farmall A & B are rated at 1400 rpm. The change is accomplished with a different governor spring, one a little longer than the other.

I believe the head gasket is different with a pump than an engine without. Water ports in the gasket are a different size. Sorry, I can't remember which is which.
