An UGE great plough just like baby's

Rummaging in a farmers barn (at his invitation i have to say!) a few weeks ago I came across a plaough somewhat like that that is fitted to a Cub only three times longer, although it isn't fitted to a reversible tow bar there is a cross member and hinge which give's the impression that it was mid-mounted, trailing behind.

Unlike the Cub plough it has a fine vertical adjustment between the attachment and the two springs. It was painted IH blue and bears the number (you need to read it upside down, sorry!

It was delivered yesterday.

Can anyone identify it please, what setup does it go with?

Well that's a start Jim,
Could anyone give us a picture of a complete one, I'd go back to the barn and have another rootle around for other essential bits.

That's a great help, I have a very funny feeling that this was a double "reversible" same as yours.
Would you, next time you walk past it with a tape measure in your hand take a measure of just the beam, from the front to where it curls round underneath, that is to say the furthest extremities of the beam. Thanks,
And no doubt you confirm Jim's prognosis of a Farmal C?
From further investigations this particular farm had a Farmall WC "Utilitaire" they still have the hood, I might just try to get that just for the nostalgic thoughts it might bring :roll:

I confirm, this is a plough for a french Farmall C (Super C or FCN Or FCD or F235, depend of the engine or the the hydraulics.
should have had two 12 feets bottom.

Yaume thanks for the input, when you say it should have 2 bottoms (socles) do you mean on the same beam or just a second beam with another bottom on it but in reverse? Also do you know of any C owners who might be pleased to receive the said plough?

Hello Pat

FC plough had 2 bottoms on each side. What makes 4 bottoms for the complete setup. FC were at least twice moire powerfull as a cub, so two bottoms (12 fts) was not to much.

unfortunately i don't know anymore any FC owner. the tractor was old the guy too, and the tractor was sold... years ago.

Anyhow, it was in north department, and the tractor was used to pull out muck with a single arm loader (like IH 1000, but a little more "rustic". Made by IH anyway)

about the plough you've dicovered, I'll sugest you to salvage the jointers. may be they could be mounted on one of your cub plough. That's what i've done on mine and it works quite well.

Unless your ploughs are already equiped with jointers, what would makes you a lucky boy...(sauf votre respect...).
 
In the US, one way C plows were made either single or 2 bottom. I don't know if both were built or imported in France.
